Menopause Weight Gain
Estrogen Dominance is the typical culprit for Menopause Weight Gain. Estrogen is a hormone that is produced and stored in fat cells, especially in the abdomen, hips and thighs. As Estrogen increases, Insulin increases, which causes Insulin Resistance. When Estrogen Dominance exists with Insulin Resistance, together they are much stronger than any diet or exercise plan. Insulin Resistance happens when the diet is too high in sugar and refined carbohydrates. Sugar raises the blood sugar. One of the body's highest priorities is to keep blood sugar level so it produces Insulin to get it down quickly. When the body is constantly demanded to produce Insulin from the frequent and/or high sugar intake, the cells eventually become "resistant" to the Insulin and the blood sugar level rises. If a menopausal woman is having uncontrollable weight gain, there is definitely a blood sugar problem. By testing the hormone levels and assessing the adrenal and thyroid glands, we can get the Estrogen Dominance and Insulin Resistance under control. And then, weight loss will be achievable.
