This is probably the number reason for hysterectomies, along with endometriosis. Estrogen Dominance is the cause of this extremely common problem, and it is easily fixable. Estrogen is a very aggressive hormone and one of its main jobs is cell proliferation. Under the normal influence of estrogen, the uterine lining will grow and grow and grow so it can accept a fertilized egg. If estrogen is out of control and over-dominating progesterone, the uterine lining will build up too much, causing heavy bleeding and clotting during menses. Progesterone's job is to balance out estrogen causing cells to stop growing, mature and die. By balancing these two very vital hormones, normal uterine lining build up with normal shedding and bleeding will be the result.
